Originally designed as a backyard teenage retreat, this type of container accommodation is ideal where space is limited but an additional private room is needed.

Its robust steel construction, security features and fully insulated interior make it a practical solution for South African homes and properties.

The 20ft container provides a surprisingly practical amount of living space.

The standard layout can comfortably accommodate up to two people and includes:

Designed With Security in Mind

The Kraal Retreat is designed to remain secure when it isn’t being used.

Both windows can be fitted with lockable steel drop-down shutters, operated using gas struts for easy opening and closing.

The heavy-duty personnel door is flush fitted and equipped with locking and deadlocking hardware, helping keep the interior secure.

The external air-conditioning compressor is also mounted outside the container rather than taking up valuable interior space.

Comfortable All Year Round

The entire interior can be fully insulated using 50mm EPS insulated panels.

Combined with a 1.5HP split-system air conditioner rated at 3.5kW, the space can remain comfortable throughout the year.

The hard-wearing floating floor provides a practical interior finish and leads into the ensuite bathroom.

Practical Kitchenette

A compact kitchenette provides occupants with the ability to prepare simple meals and refreshments.

The kitchenette can also accommodate a small bar fridge, making the unit more independent and convenient.

Ensuite Bathroom

The internal ensuite provides the essential facilities in one compact space:
